St. Michaels Students Donate Meatloaf Dinners, Prepare for Confirmation

Students at St. Michaels assembled meatloaf dinners, decorated their confirmation shields and answered questions about their faith journeys Wednesday.

Students at St. Michaels prepared for their confirmation Wednesday in the St. Michaels School cafeteria. They decorated their confirmation shields, discussed their faith journeys and assembled meatloaf dinners to donate to the Interfaith Food Pantry in Carol Stream.

Junior High Youth Ministry Director Cathy Swanson said that the students learn about social justice in their religious education, and that there are people in need in their own communities. The meatloaf dinners were a way they could give something to those in need in conjunction with their confirmation activities.

The students assembled a total of 18 dinners. Each dinner could feed up to six people, Swanson said. Their confirmation will be Sunday, May 1.
