Special-Needs School Moving to Downtown Wheaton

The Bartlett Learning Center, a school for students with special needs, is leaving Bartlett and moving to a former part of St. John Lutheran School.

The Bartlett Learning Center, a special-needs school in Bartlett that serves over 100 students ages 5 to 22, is relocating into a former part of St. John Lutheran School in downtown Wheaton for this autumn, the Daily Herald reports.

According to the paper, the move was necessary because the landlord of the Bartlett building terminated the school's lease, but also because the building's conditions were deteriorating; the new location is at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Main Street in Wheaton, and will itself require some renovations.

"We want to make it the best possible condition that we can. We want to ensure the highest level of safety for our students," school principal John Utterback told the paper.
