Accomplishment: This Whiz Kid was born in Kenya and has spent nearly a decade mastering the English language.

Key to awesomeness: Musa Musa emigrated from Kenya at age three. Now 11, he puts significant effort into helping his five siblings speak, read, and write English.  The ambitious youth has also taken on the challenge of teaching his parents the same lessons.

Musa Musa does well in school. When he isn’t dedicating his time to his family or his school work, he volunteers for food shelters and Christmas sharing. He is also a skilled young athlete, playing soccer with goals of one day becoming a professional.

“He has such a passion for learning and wants to know more. He always works his hardest,” his teacher, Erin Gatlin, said. “His dedication to school and his family is impressive and admirable.”
