Monroe Students See Man Reported in Winfield, Girl Reports Abduction Attempt in Warrenville

Students report seeing the same man who reportedly asked a nine-year-old boy to get into his car Tuesday afternoon.

While walking to school Wednesday morning in Winfield, several Monroe students identified the , when a nine-year-old boy told police a man asked him to get into his car, according to a message District 200 sent to parents Thursday night.
 
The students reported the sighting to school officials and subsequently worked with the Winfield Police Department to provide further details into their investigation, according to the message.
 
In a separate, unrelated reported incident around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, a student in Warrenville reported that a van approached her and asked her to get into his vehicle while she was walking home from the library. The driver is described as an older, white man with white hair driving a white, older model van, according to the message.

The district asked parents to remind their children to report any unusual situations or people.
