District 200 Annual Parent University

The Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 offers the annual Parent University on Saturday, Oct. 16 to assist parents with timely suggestions.

This year's keynote presentation will be, "Parenting Well in a Media/Digital Age", by internationally acclaimed author, educator, and parent Gloria DeGaetano. In this screen-saturated society, parents are continually bombarded with many choices—choices that are not always easy to make. Gloria will address the challenging issues of parenting in a media/digital age, including how to deal effectively with social media, texting and sexting, cyber bullying, and violent video games. Ms. DeGaetano is the author of the popular book, Parenting Well in the Media Age, which won the 2007 i-Parenting Media Award for Excellence.

Parent University will be held at , Saturday, Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Parent University 2008 registration is $15.00 for single, $20 for a couple (scholarships are available based on need).
