District 200 Receives $25,000 for Science Education

Bosch Energy, Science and Technology Foundation awards $25,000 for student learning.

Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 announced Tuesday its acceptance of a $25,000 grant from the Bosch Energy, Science and Technology (BEST) Foundation and Robert Bosch, LLC. The grant will fund equipment and supplies for the district's new high school anatomy and forensic science classes beginning next year and some equipment for Project Lead the Way, a science program in the district's middle schools, according to a press release from District 200.

The BEST program was launched in 2011 as a community project aimed to increase student learning about science and technologies that conserve energy, according to the release.

District 200 in December approved as new high school science courses. The classes will be offered to juniors and seniors beginning the 2012-13 year.
