District 200 Hires New Elementary School Principal

The District 200 school board approved a nomination to hire Heidi Fitch as the new principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary School.

District 200 hired Heidi Fitch as the new Principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary. Fitch, who will replace interim Principal Jen Keeler, "comes highly recommended" from her current position as the Principal of Monroe Elementary in Hinsdale School District 181, according to a press release Thursday from District 200.

Fitch has been with District 181 for 3 years and has also served as the Assistant Principal of Hadley Jr. High School in Glen Ellyn, and as a teacher for approximately 26 years prior to becoming an assistant principal.

She received a B.S. in Education from Crown College, an M.S. in Education from Northern Illinois University and is currently in a Doctoral Program at Aurora University.

District 200 Superintendent Dr. Brian Harris said, “We are fortunate to welcome Mrs. Fitch who is an experienced and highly talented educator to join our Community Unit District 200 administrative team. Mrs. Fitch’s experience as an instructional leader will enhance student learning at Pleasant Hill and across District #200.” 

The Board of Education approved Mrs. Fitch’s nomination for hire at the Apr. board meeting. She will begin her duties on July 1, 2011.
