District 200: Board Meeting Agenda for Aug. 24

Board to pass vendor contracts, hazard review and discuss 2011-12 budget.

The District 200 Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the School Services Center, 130 Park Avenue, Wheaton. The following items will be addressed:

Consent Agenda

Approval of Revised Policy, Uniform Grievance Procedures: The board will designate a new Complaint Manager as the Assistant Superintendent for Operations.

Approval of Vendor Contracts: The board will vote on vendor contracts pertaining to goods and services that could generate more than $1,000 for District 200 in the 2011-12 school year. In August 2010, the board approved a five year contract with Pepsi Americas. In April 2011, the board approved a one year contract extension with Park Vending, Inc. as the snack vending contractor for both high schools and three middle schools.

Approval of Serious Safety Hazards: In an updated review of serious safety hazards in the district has been filed with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). Four findings from last year's listing have been removed regarding hazards at Pleasant Hill Elementary and three at Sandburg Elementary. There were two new hazards added to the list.

Approval to Open Previously Closed Minutes: A committee of the board reviewed closed session minutes on Aug. 11 and will recommend that the board approve opening some closed session minutes.
