D200 to Sell Off the Extra 'Stuff' at Hubble

District 200 formally declares surplus assets at former Hubble school property.

District 200 will hold a cash 'n carry to get rid of all of its surplus assets at the old school property in late October.

Board members formally declared assets at Hubble as "surplus" Wednesday. Bill Farley, assistant superintendent of District 200 business operations said staff have received requests for items in the building from charities, nonprofits, other schools and members of the community.

"We will establish a pecking order," for how to handle all of the items, he said.

"We've had a lot of unique requests," he said. "There are a lot of people with a lot of history (and memories there)."

Superintendent Dr. Brian Harris said he would have a timeline for the sale in the next week or two and expects the sale to take place late next month. "We will be having a community opportunity to come in and purchase items at a low cost," he said.
