28 Wheaton Students to Receive PTA Scholarships

PTA Council selects 28 students out of more than 100 applicants to receive scholarships.

The Wheaton Warrenville PTA Council awarded scholarships to six Wheaton North and six Wheaton Warrenville South high school seniors who have grown up in District 200, the Council announced earlier this week.  

PTAs representing the district's four middle schools have also selected 16 former students to receive scholarships.   

This year's scholarship recipients from WNHS included: Rachel Cook, Michelle Maskeri, Anna Stuhlmacher, Shelton Thompson, Morgan Vought, and Marianthie Wank

The WWSHS recipients wereMilada Dvorakova, Adam Erickson, Kelly Langlas, Camille Nuttall, Anand Poozhikunnel, and Kelly Potts.

 The council's scholarships are funded through donations from all local elementary, middle school, and Jefferson Preschool PTA units.

More than 100 students applied for the scholarships. Applicants were evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, leadership qualities and community service. Students also wrote an essay that detailed their goals for the future and how their educational experience in District 200 schools has prepared them to be successful college students.

  • Edison grads: Matthew Baer, Erin Bagley, Mark Orland, Stephanie Warner
  • Franklin grads Emma Alcock, Katherine Bennett, Alyssa Berry, Michael O'Malley;  
  • Hubble grads William Matthei, Kevin Giltz, Andrew Smith, Daniel McKee; and 
  • Monroe grads Nate Annen, Emma Grisanzio, Kayla Leonard, Brooke Schanowski.
