Who Might Run for Dillard's State Senate Seat?
With his run for the governor's office, state Sen. Kirk Dillard will be forced to relinquish his 24th District seat. Who wants it?
With 24th District state Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) officially running for Illinois governor in 2014, who might run for his vacant seat in Springfield?
According to the Doings Hinsdale, candidates include Dennis Reboletti (R-45, Elmhurst), former 41st District Rep. Chris Nybo from Elmhurst, who was defeated by Dillard in 2012, and Patti Bellock (R-47, Hinsdale).
Reboletti told The Doings he “anticipate[s] making an announcement in the next few weeks,” while Nybo said he is “taking it under consideration.” No Democratic names have yet emerged.
“There’s not a shortage of very fine potential candidates,” Dillard told The Doings.
