Visit Memorial Park to be transported around the world during the Wheaton Community Relations Commission’s annual Wheaton World Tour event.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Memorial Park, spotlighting the many cultures that reside in Wheaton. It is presented in conjunction with the Wheaton Municipal Band, which will perform a concert of music from around the world.
During the event, you can see traditional dance, poetry and song, or check out handmade items from nonprofit groups such as Re:New, World Relief and People’s Resource Center.
The Wheaton College Community School of the Arts and others will also provide children’s activities. You can make your tour around the world complete with international dining, with the help of two food trucks and local restaurants serving American, Italian and Mongolian food.
The Wheaton Municipal Band will perform a tour of the world music concert to tie in with the Wheaton World Tour event. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in Memorial Park. Both events are free to attend.
