The Wheaton Park District announced its plan Wednesday to make an . The park district held a to decide whether to make the offer and approve a letter of intent with Bradford Real Estate, which would purchase the portion of the old Hubble property at the corner of Naperville and Roosevelt roads to bring a Mariano's Fresh Market to Wheaton. The property's owner,  where no official bids were made.

, which ended at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Classics garnered the most votes on ABC 7's website to claim the 2011 ABC 7 Show Choir Showdown title. ABC 7 broadcast their morning news segment live from Wheaton Warrenville South Friday to announce the winner. The Classics won with 30.8 percent of the votes, just beating Waubonsie Valley, which had 29.7 percent of the votes.

Wheaton high schools sent a hopeful batch of girls to compete in the , which conclude Saturday. The Tigers’ team, has the best time qualifying time of any 4x800 quartet that's going into the state meet (9:13.65)— eight seconds ahead of Schaumburg’s state-qualifying time (9:21.83) for the Class 3A meet. Wheaton North also sent two runners to the 3A meet, and St. Francis sent two runners to compete in the Class 2A meet.

The in the state finals last weekend. They posted a season-best score of 161.250, less than two points behind champion Lincoln-Way co-op with 163.
