Pro-life Groups Commend Chris Hage

Press release: Major organizations show candidate is a solid advocate of values, campaign says

The following is a press release from Chris Hage:

Two major pro-life/pro-family groups have given Chris Hage high marks and another published his strong commitment to their mutual values, the campaign announced today.  Hage also pointed to his long record of supporting pro-life/pro-family candidates and issues as further proof of his values.

Hage, a candidate for state representative in the 42nd district, said he was proud to receive positive acknowledgement from respected and influential organizations.  They released voting guides and public documents about Hage as follows:

·  Family-Pac: Rated as "Highly Qualified"
·  Illinois Citizens for Life: Ranked as "Fully Pro-Life" (highest ranking)
·  Illinois Family Institute (IFI): Hage's stated positions match those of IFI

"I am committed to the values of family and life," Hage said. "When Republican voters hear this from these groups too, they can be sure I am on their side."

Hage has a long and deep record supporting pro-life and pro-family issues.

He is endorsed by the former national head of Catholics for Bush, Leonard Leo.  He organized petition drives for the effort to force the creation of judicial bypass rules that would allow implementation of the 1995 parental notification act.  For many years, he has provided volunteer campaign support and expertise to numerous local conservative/pro-life judges and legislative candidates.

While serving as legal counsel for the state senate, Hage worked to draft bills to promote family issues.

"Our community needs someone who not only believes in family and life values but who has the proven record working for it,"  Hage said.  "I'll go to Springfield on day one knowing how to make the process work for what we believe in."

The rankings and documents from the pro-life and pro-family organizations do not constitute sole endorsement of individual candidates, and more than one candidate can receive high marks or acknowledgement of agreement.  For example, IFI states that the guide does not constitute support or endorsement by Illinois Family Institute and cannot be used to advance the candidacy of any individual.  However, the documents provide independent affirmation of an individual's positions and commitments.

Hage announced his run in October, with Patti Birkett, wife of former DuPage State's Attorney Joe Birkett, chairing the effort. For nearly ten years, Hage served as a prosecutor under Birkett, successfully convicting felons and collecting more than a million dollars in child support. For more than ten years, Hage has also led the Chicago Lawyers' Chapter of the Federalist Society, a conservative public policy group started by Reagan Administration attorneys. He also is an Eagle Scout.

The 42nd District includes all of Winfield, large parts of Wheaton and Lisle, and portions of Carol Stream, West Chicago, Warrenville, and Naperville.
