Nominations Taken for Wheaton's 2014 Good Citizen Award

The Community Relations Commission's annual Good Citizens Awards help recognize and thank those in Wheaton who make quiet, generous and often extraordinary contributions to the community.

It's time again to focus a spotlight on the community members who make Wheaton a better place to live. The community is invited to help select Wheaton’s 2014 Good Citizens Award recipients.
 
Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their service in the community?

The Community Relations Commission’s annual Good Citizens Awards help recognize and thank those in Wheaton who make quiet, generous and often extraordinary contributions to the community. 

This includes volunteer service for a school, church, nursing home, civic group or non-profit organization. A person may also be nominated for service to an individual, such as tutoring or assisting an elderly neighbor.
 
The four categories for nominees are: 1) high school student, 2) adult, 3) senior adult and 4) group. A nominee must be a current resident of Wheaton and have done something for the benefit of Wheaton and its citizens.

Nominations are due by April 11, 2014. The Community Relations Commission will review the nominations and will honor award recipients at the May 19, 2014 Wheaton City Council meeting.
