Why do residents who pay taxes have to pay for a luncheon to hear the State of the Village address? Why isn't this presented at Village Hall for free and broadcast on Ch10 cable TV? Lisle taxpayers paid about $10M for the Village Hall building, so why isn't it used for events like this and let taxpayers attend for FREE!!

And to make it even worse, our tax dollars will be used to pay trustees and village staff to attend the presentation!!

Wheaton Mayor will present his "State of the Community" address at night (when working taxpayers can actually attend) for FREE at the Wheaton Community Center. It will even include Q & A with the public!! Mayor Broda, why do Lisle taxpayers deserve less than Wheaton taxpayers? Why can't the Lisle "State of the Village" address be presented for FREE at night at Lisle Village Hall?? http://www.wheaton.il.us/calendar/detail.aspx?id=7569&linkidentifier=id&itemid=7569

Were you able to take a 2+ hour lunch to attend Broda's State of the Village address today from 11:30 - 1:30 pm? Some of us can't or won't take a 3 hr lunch. Those of us who are working and paying taxes are fully aware that the unemployment rate is still hovering at 8-9%.
