Illinois Liberty PAC Endorses Jeanne Ives

Ives press release: Radio host Dan Proft announces Illinois Liberty PAC endorsement in Naperville.

WLS-AM Radio Host Dan Proft last Wednesday announced that the Illinois Liberty PAC officially endorsed Jeanne Ives’ campaign for state representative in the 42nd District, according to a press release from Jeanne Ives.

“Legislators have value in the policy decisions they make and support. Jeanne  understands the policy reforms that must be made for Illinois if we are to step back from the precipice of collapse and re-build our state,” said Proft.

“My high school basketball coach used to say, “Talent is nothing if you don’t put in the hard work. I think that’s true, but talent is important. Jeanne Ives has the talent to be a great legislator. She also has the perseverance and determination it will take to fight Mike Madigan and the Democrat machine in Springfield. We are proud to support her campaign.”

Pat Hughes, former Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, said of Ives, “Jeanne will be a fighter. She won’t be intimidated by those who oppose her. She has the courage and commitment to help advance necessary changes in Illinois.”

Ives, a councilwoman in Wheaton, promised to work to expand economic opportunity.

“At the Illinois Policy Institute, they say ‘Policy Changes Lives.’ In Illinois we have no choice but to immediately begin making choices that will build our economy. I am committed to using my economic and tax background, as well as my experience at the municipal level to protect the taxpayers in Illinois and expand economic opportunity in every possible way.”

“The message that voters need to understand is that I have the experience, background and principled leadership ability to make a difference in Springfield.”

Ives added, “I graduated from West Point. There, I learned to live by an honor code. You don’t lie, steal or cheat. In Springfield, they have to legislate honor.”

“My only purpose in going to the state legislature is, at every decision point, to make the best choice for the taxpayers of Illinois. The special interests have their lobbyists; I will be the taxpayers' lobbyist. I won’t be bought or compromised in order to further a personal agenda. When I come home I will have five kids, a great husband and a basket of laundry waiting for me. I’ll be kept humble.”

“The good news for taxpayers in Illinois is that there are a number of conservative organizations working to turn this state from an economic wasteland to land of opportunity. I want to thank Dan Proft, Pat Hughes and the Illinois Liberty PAC for their support of my campaign and for helping provide policy prescriptions targeted at solving Illinois' fiscal malady.”

How is this news??? Jeanne hosted fundraisers for Proft for his failed campaign last year, and now she gets political pay back from a political action committee. Smells like an insider deal. She talks about going to West Point, which I might add is her ONLY qualification since she has not had a real job in 25 years, and has the nerve to act like she is an expert on the budget and all things Illinois. She acts like she is a tax expert, but she is not even licensed to give tax or financial advice to anyone!!! This lady is a shameless self promoter from day one. She was elected to city office a few months ago thanks to the shameless use of the St. Mike's member directory, and now wants to move up. Thankfully we the people in the 42nd District have a real Tea Party choice in Laura Pollastrini. She is not beholden to anyone or any political action committees. See through the hype people.
Molly R. O'Brien December 06, 2011 at 06:29 PM
I see the Laura P attack machine is up and running. While it is true that Jeanne support Proft that does not make it an insider deal. Jeanne has not had any full time employment since leaving the Army because she is a mother of 5. What is wrong with that? Jeanne has these pseudo Tea Party and insider types up in arms because she has exposed the corruption in Wheaton and the insider deals of the DWA and giving money to the Theater PAC. Let her bring the light of transparency to Springfield. GO JEANNE GO JEANNE GO. You are the only one that can save us.
Jeff Sand December 06, 2011 at 06:49 PM
What the heck did Ives supposedly expose? There was never anything secret about the DWA. If you just don't like the idea of a property tax funding a chamber of commerce-type organization (and that's fine), just come out and say so. Don't allege some sort of conspiracy and cover-up where there is none. Same with the theatre. While I personally support some kind of renovation and re-use for it, I don't know that the plan put forth was the right one. The result of the advisory referendum should demonstrate somewhat more support for it than Ives would let on. Jeanne Ives spent basically three full years running for city council, and then announced less than five months into her term that she was looking to move up. In that time, she's done very little except complain about the things she already spent years complaining about, but with a bigger soap box. I wouldn't think that's the kind of record she would want to run on.
Molly R. O'Brien December 07, 2011 at 10:10 PM
@ The NKI How dare you accuse Jeanne of not being tranparent. She served her country with honor in the Gulf War after graduating from West Point. She is the only one on City Council with the guts to ask the tough questions of the DWA and the Don Roses of Wheaton that seem to think that the City works for their benefit. Her record of public service and accomplishment is so great it would take a day to describe. Jeanne did not know anything about Deb Olson resigning before everyone else. She found out when it hit the papers. @ Jeff Sand You don't like Jeanne because she took on the DWA when everyone else on Council was to scared. DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY!
Jeff Sand December 08, 2011 at 04:38 AM
I honestly don't care about the DWA one way or another. I don't own any property downtown, so the tax really doesn't affect me. My feeling is it seems to be an argument between the haves and the haves who live out of town. My only problem is Jeanne Ives is pretending she uncovered some sort of secret deal and taking credit for that when nothing of the sort ever happened. And for the record, I do not and have never worked for any candidate running against Ms. Ives.
Jim McMahon December 08, 2011 at 06:34 AM
Jeannie is my cup of tea.....I'll vote for her.
Jim McMahon December 08, 2011 at 06:38 AM
Laura Pollastrini. is a lawyer...do we need more lawyers? Accounting professionals is what we need.
Carol Tea December 08, 2011 at 05:25 PM
@ JIM MCMAHON Laura had a real job prior to becoming a lawyer late in life. Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer and so is your beloved Mark Stern. What did Jeanne promise you for your support Jim? Did she promise you her seat on council if she gets her District 42 gig down in Springfield? Jeanne's seat on council is not for her's to give. Although she seems to be able to orchastrate Debbie Olson's county board seat rather well. Does she love you more than Amy?
Charlotte Eriksen (Editor) December 08, 2011 at 10:02 PM
According to Jeanne Ives, she graduated from West Point in 1987, which is less than 25 years ago, has W2 income from tax and accounting work and used public records to contact friends and associates.
Carol Tea December 08, 2011 at 10:35 PM
Charlotte, Thank you for talking to Jeanne Ives. Why is this article listed here to begin with? It seems like it is more of a press release than anything else. There is no author. Should this be under opinions or some type of blog? Seems like the Patch is being hijacked by the likes of Jeanne and her henchman Mark O. Stern for there own political purposes. They are really "transparent" with their use of the Patch for there own adgenda.
Charlotte Eriksen (Editor) December 08, 2011 at 11:16 PM
It is a press release, which is why there's no author from Patch. You are more than welcome to blog or contribute to Patch, as is anyone else. We've made several offers and posted several announcements and articles letting readers know that. Feel free to email me if you'd like to contribute. Thanks for reading!
Jim McMahon December 08, 2011 at 11:20 PM
I knew Abraham Lincoln, I worked with Abraham Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln was a friend of mine...Laura Pollastrini is no Abraham Lincoln.
lucky halfback December 09, 2011 at 03:54 AM
Well Jim, Lincoln would have washed his hands and checked his pockets if he meet you. Backing Jeanne has it's rewards, like a clear sail in to the city council?
Jim McMahon December 10, 2011 at 06:30 PM
I'm voting for Todd Scalzo.
Molly R. O'Brien December 10, 2011 at 10:52 PM
Jim... Say you are joking. We need more quality people like you, Jeanne and Mark Stern. Do not leave us and vote for that Democrat. You can beat him in 2013. Keep the faith brother. We need more transparency on council since Jeanne will be in Springfield. Who is going to shine the light on the insider deals and backroom deals orchestrated by the money people that dictate what goes on at City Hall? Without Jeanne, there will be no protection. Please rethink.
lucky halfback December 11, 2011 at 06:00 AM
What qualities? Like, Mark Stern who backed Democrat John Prendiville for his run against the Republican Gresk? Or Jeanne, who's idea of transparency is to engage in cronyism by having knowledge of Olsen leaving county, at lest a week before Olsen officially announced Monday, Dec 5 at 3:00pm that she was leaving County board and went ahead to helped a close buddy, Amy Grant get petitions a week prior to Dec 5th.. The election process is to inconvenient for the Crony sisters of Deb, Amy, Olsen.
Molly R. O'Brien December 11, 2011 at 02:06 PM
Lucky, where is your proof? How do you know Jeanne knew of Ms. Olsen's departure from the county board race? I do not believe that a family values Republican of Jeanne's credentials can be a crony of the likes of Ms. Olsen. If she did know, there must have been a reason why would not share this knowledge with others at Milton Township besides Chris Edwards and Amy Grant. Jeanne is a knew type of Republican that does not engage in back room deals. As for you comments about Mark Stern, he is very transparent about his love of Democrats like Prendiville, Kim VanderShaff and Harold Lonks. What is wrong with being a Republican party activist that supports Democrats on occasion?
Jim McMahon December 12, 2011 at 08:40 AM
I'm not against running but local politics is so childish I feel like I'm back in 2nd grade. Although I did have a crush on my second grade teacher. lol

Mark Kmiecik December 19, 2011 at 08:24 PM
Charlotte, I wonder why only Jeanne has the most articles under the "Election 2012" and none for for the other Candidates for the Illinois state rep race district 42. As you know, there are three other Candidates, Chis Hage of Wheaton; Dave Carlin of Downers Grove; and Laura M. Pollastrini of Carol Stream. I hope you are able to see your way and give the readers information on the other choices in the 42 District race.
Charlotte Eriksen (Editor) December 19, 2011 at 08:32 PM
@Mark Kmiecik, I don't have any press releases from them that were sent after they filed.
Mark Kmiecik December 20, 2011 at 01:12 PM
So because Chis Hage of Wheaton; Dave Carlin of Downers Grove; and Laura M. Pollastrini of Carol Stream. did'nt file "Press Releases" does not mean they don't exist or not on the March 20, 2012 primary ballot. Reporting requires a little bit a work?
Carol Tea January 12, 2012 at 07:30 PM
Does Jeanne approve of your racist comments about Hispanic residents in Wheaton that send there kids to public schools? Does she question Hispanics about their English skills and immigrations status, as you do?
Molly R. O'Brien January 12, 2012 at 07:42 PM
Carol Tea, or whatever your name is... LAURA!!! Just because Mr. McMahon makes a racist remark about Hispanics does not mean that Jeanne hates Hispanics or immigrants. You took a cheap shot at Jeanne through a fool like McMahon. Jeanne is the only one with honor in this campaign and served her country proudly along side of Hispanic Americans. Jeanne fights for tax payers in the downtown, some who are Hispanic, and sheds light on the insider deals that plague City Hall. What have you ever done Laura, I mean Carol Tea?

Old saying I remember..."Birds of a feather, fly together..."
Molly R. O'Brien January 29, 2012 at 03:22 AM
Another great day going door to door for Team Ives and honest government. Seems like only last week I was knocking for this great woman to reform the Council (misson accomplished), and now she is at 9% in the polls and the rest of the "Republicans" a/k/a RINOs are at 4% apiece. This election is in the bag!!! Word on the street is that Roskam, who owes his politcal good fortune to Jeanne and Milton, is likely to endorse.
Ronnie Ray February 01, 2012 at 08:16 PM
Molly, I see you been quaffing down the Thunderbird again. Your statement that Roskam owes his political good fortune to Ives is a bold face whopper!!! Shame on you Molly. You should know, Jeanne was no were to be found in 2006, 2008, 20010 campaigns, I never seen her any were around doing the heavy lift, I know I was there. Jeanne political career has been all about "Jeanne" not about helping others or giving back to the elephant. Roskam would be a fool to endorse Ives due the widespread lost of support for him and Roskam generally does not endorse down on the ticket for that reason. . Molly grow up and stop spouting drunken lies and bs... It marginalizes your candidate.
Molly R. O'Brien February 20, 2012 at 05:59 PM
Seems like you are going to need some Thunderbird Chrissy. Mrs. Roskam has endorsed Jeanne. Is that any indicator for you? Are you saying Roskam is a fool? Jeanne has got this one in the bag.
Molly R. O'Brien February 20, 2012 at 06:05 PM
Chris, Take a look at this impressive list of endorsements that Jeanne has. You have nothing! http://www.ives42.com/ives42/endorsements/ Time to take a ride to Rosie O'Rielly's and belly up to the bar. Gonna be a bad election for you.
