Updated: Get Ready, More Snow Expected

The National Weather Service has put out a hazardous weather advisory for tonight and Friday.

Looks like the National Weather Service was a bit overzealous. There's not exactly five inches of snow piled up out there.

Just when the weather finally warms up again (a little), it goes away as fast as it came. Hope everyone got to open their windows up for a little while today and get some fresh air, because the snow starts again tonight.

The National Weather Service has put out a hazardous weather advisory for the area starting tonight and continuing through Friday. Snowfall totals of between three and five inches is expected, with some areas possibly getting as much as six inches.

NWS is telling residents that a brief period of rain and sleet will precede the snowfall, which will accumulate over Thursday night into Friday morning. High wind gusts are expected too, so make sure you've secured anything around your home that could blow away.

More details to come as the story develops. Stay tuned for more information from Glen Ellyn Patch.

Overzealous for sure, Matthew! Walked out of my apartment around 9 to head into work and most of it was already melted, lol.
