Candidates to Address County Board, Public Next Week

Candidates for the vacant County Board position will have an opportunity to address current board members and the public.

Eleven candidates for a DuPage County Board District 4 position will have an opportunity to address the County Board and the public at a candidate forum Tuesday, Jan. 17.

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin, who will host the forum, wrote in a press release Wednesday, “I am delighted that so many residents are interested in serving on the County Board and am so far very impressed with the candidates’ credentials. I urge District 4 residents to join myself and the County Board members during the candidate forum to learn more about the applicants."

The Candidate Forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Auditorium of the JTK Administration Building, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton. Following the public forum, Cronin will select a nominee by the January 24 County Board meeting, according to the release.

The 11 candidates include Ronald Almiron of Glendale Heights, William Bedrossian of Wheaton, Erin Birt of Wheaton, Alan Bolds of Wheaton, Amy Grant of Wheaton, Patricia Kermend of Glen Ellyn, Chris Levan of Winfield, David Molitor of Glen Ellyn, Nicholas Cipriano of Glen Ellyn, Kaaren Oldfield of Glen Ellyn and Peter Ladesic of Glen Ellen.

The District 4 vacancy was created in December when County Board member Debra Olson resigned to accept a position as executive director of the DuPage Homeownership Center.

Cronin accepted applications from District 4 residents for one month. The deadline was Jan. 10.
