The city of Wheaton is reminding residents that next week — Dec. 9-13, 2013 — is the season’s final leaf and yard waste pickup week of the season for Advanced Disposal.
Advance Disposal, formerly Veolia, is the city’s waste hauler.
The city’s websitre offers guidelines for containers or bags that can be used for leaf pickup.
According to the city, the final pickup will be on your normal garbage day.
The city also urges residents to consider composting leaves, and offers these tips on composting leaves as an environmentally friend option.
Also, as a reminder for the upcoming holidays, the city’s website states that there is no garbage collection on holidays like Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
The city’s website also spells out details on the collection of post-holidays Christmas tree collection and recycling, which is offered at no charge during the first two full weeks in January.
Watch for reminders about that after Christmas.
