Coolidge Web Site Lets Voters Determine if They Live in the 6th Congressional District

In order to assist voters in understanding how redistricting impacts them, Congressional candidate Leslie Coolidge has introduced a website application that allows voters to see on a map whether or not they live in the 6th Congressional District.  The application uses a Google map to pinpoint the voter’s address on a map of the 6th Congressional District.
 
It can be found at www.coolidgeforcongress.com by clicking the map on the right hand side that asks “Do you live in the 6th District? Click to find out!”
 
“When we sent out our first campaign mailing to people in the 6th District, we heard back from a number of them who said they’d like to vote for me but insisted they didn’t live in the district when, in fact, they did,” said Coolidge.  “Our database guru created an application that allows people to enter their addresses and determine if they live in the district.”
 
Confusion over the Congressional remapping, approved in June, appears to be widespread.  With over 75 percent of voters new to the 6th District, even the incumbent has had to introduce himself to thousands of new voters in a recent mailing in which he called himself a “Ronald Regan” (sic) Republican.
 
The Sixth Congressional District includes Ela and Cuba Townships in Lake County, Algonquin Township in McHenry, and parts of central Kane, northwest Cook and central DuPage Counties.
