City Council: Meeting Agenda for Aug. 15, 2011

The City Council approves ambulance fee increase, McDonald's proposes a remodel and more.

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 at City Hall. Agenda items to follow:

Unfinished Business:

  • An ordinance amending fire department fees and fee schedule: The city will approve proposed increases for residents.

New Business:

  • Special event permit request for street closures and city services at the ; and for fireworkds at the Wheaton North High School homecoming: The PADS run/walk will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sep. 10 in downtown Wheaton; The fireworks at Wheaton North High School will be 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sep. 23.
  • A resolution authorizing disposal of surplus property

  • An ordinance amending vehicle and traffic schedules for the city of Wheaton (first reading): City staff will recommend approval of an ordinance granting zoning approval for the at 935 Union Avenue for a parking restriction to be posted on one side of Lincoln Avenue from the bridge to the western street's dead end. The ordinance proposes posting the north side of Lincoln Avenue from the Winfield Creek Bridge to Sherwin Street as parking prohibited between 6 a.m. and noon on Sundays.

  • Ordinance granting special use permit approving the operation of a building primarily devoted to religious worship

New business:

  • Resolution authorizing execution of an intergovernmental agreement for the conveyance of sanitary sewers and easements between the Wheaton Sanitary District and the City of Wheaton
  • Request for minor planned unit development at , 2030 Naperville Road: McDonald's is requesting to remodel its building facade and update the building to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. McDonald's would reduce the size of its wall signage, remove the existing roof, extend the existing wall brick veneer, remove the bay windows and add an arcade to the front and non-drive-thru side with stone.
