Wheaton Police Report Laptop Thefts at School and More

Theft

Someone stole a laptop from Fischer Hall at Wheaton College between 12:50 and 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 29. According to the police report someone entered shared living quarters in Fischer Hall and took the $2,000 computer Saturday afternoon.

Someone stole a pair of Christian Dior sunglasses, worth $240, from the Wheaton Eye Clinic, 2015 Main Street, around 9:15 a.m. Friday, Apr. 27.

A Wheaton Warrenville South student reported someone stole his computer after he left it under a desk around 10:45 a.m. Friday, Apr. 27. The student forgot the $400 tablet computer under the desk and when he returned to the room around 11:15, it was missing.

Someone stole a laptop from Blanchard Hall at Wheaton College around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 26. According to the police report the laptop, worth $650, was left unattended.

Property damage

Someone damaged “numerous” mailboxes in the 600 block of Alchester Drive between 12:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 29. The cost of damage is about $500, police said.

Someone put nails behind the tires of a gold 2008 GMC Acadia parked in the 2100 block of Durfee Road between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, Apr. 27.

Someone drove over fresh-poured cement in the 300 block of Main Street around 2 p.m. Friday, Apr. 27 and left the scene.

Forgery

A woman reported forgery Tuesday, Apr. 24 after someone wrote fraudulent checks payable to her name and tried to cash them against her account.
