Wheaton Police Investigation Results in Child Pornography Arrest

Robert Mariani turned himself in at the DuPage County Sheriff's Office Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest for four counts of aggravated possession of child pornography.

A Wheaton police investigation resulted in the arrest of Robert Mariani, 27, of Willowbrook, for four counts of aggravated possession of child pornography Thursday. Mariani turned himself in at the DuPage County Sheriff's Office at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

He was booked at the DuPage County Jail and released after posting $30,000 of a $300,000 bond, according to a press release Friday from Wheaton police.

According to Tom Meloni, Wheaton Deputy Police Chief, "aggravated possession" means that a child depicted in pornographic material is under the age of 13 (Meloni clarified the meaning of the charge in a ).
