Wheaton Police Blotter: Business Break-in, Warrant Arrests, Thefts

Business Burglarized


Police were dispatched at 6:24 a.m. to the 1200 block of East Butterfield Road on a report of a burglary to a business. The owner told officers that upon his arrival, he discovered the break-in, which had occurred overnight. The front door was locked when he arrived, but when he went in, he discovered two cash registers open with their drawers lying on the floor and all the bills and most of the coins removed. The loss was estimated at $300.

Warrant arrest


Sergii Siachyn, 22, of the 1200 block of East Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, was arrested at 8:32 p.m. at 288 E. Geneva Road on one warrant out of DuPage County and a second out of Kane County, each one for failure to appear in court on unspecified traffic offenses. He posted bond and was released pending court appearances.


Lost or Stolen Wallet


A man reported that his wallet containing $30 either was lost or stolen between 9 a.m. and noon while he was at the Wheaton Public Library, 225 N. Cross St. The wallet was valued at $25.

Warrant Arrest


Edgar Banks, 51, of the 1600 block of Ashburn Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 12:21 p.m. at his home on an Aurora warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was transported to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.


Cannabis Possession, Warrant Arrest


Darrel E. Thomas, 26, of the 600 block of Lee Road, Orlando, Fla., was arrested at 1:10 a.m. on the 2000 block of West Roosevelt Road on a charge of possession of cannabis and on a Kane County arrest warrant for forgery. He was transported to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.


Felony Theft


James A. Satterfield, 24, of the 4500 block of West Maypole, Chicago, was arrested at 2:5 a.m. on the 2000 block of West Roosevelt Road on charges of felony retail theft, and theft of lost/mislaid property. He was transported to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.


Retail Theft


Mahtab Shirani, 30, of the 2000 block of West Roosevelt Road, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. on the 400 block of South County Farm Road on a charge of retail theft. He posted bond and was released.
