Wheaton Police Blotter: $5,752 in Clothing Stolen, DUIs, Battery

MONDAY, DEC. 9, 2013


Thieves Nab $5,752 in Clothing


A business at Town Square Wheaton reported at 8:38 p.m. that three males entered the business through a side door and later fled through a door carrying stacks of clothing. The value of the stolen clothing was estimated at $5,752.


Woman Charged with Battery


Melody L. Pellegrini, 51, of the 700 block of West Liberty Drive, was arrested at 1:09 p.m. on the 300 block of West Front Street on a charge of battery. She posted bond and was released.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol


Jamie M. Van Houten, 27, of the 900 block of Sheridan Circle, Naperville, was arrested at 4:53 a.m. at 22nd and Blanchard streets on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

SATURDAY, DEC. 7, 2013


Retail Theft Arrest


Emma Urbina, 35, of the 1100 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, West Chicago, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. on the 400 block of South County Farm Road on a charge of retail theft. She posted bond and was released.


Warrant Arrest


Bridget M. Davin, 48, of the 700 block of Lippert Lane, Glendale Heights, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Schmale Road on a Wheaton warrant for retail theft. She posted bond and was released.


FRIDAY, DEC. 6, 2013


Felony Retail Theft


Peter N. Weiland, 34, of the 28W000 block of Parkview Avenue, Warrenville, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. at Rice Lake Square on a charge of felony retail theft. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail pending a court appearance.


THURSDAY, DEC. 5, 2013


Warrant Arrest


Connor M. Wilkinson, 18, of the 1100 block of North Cherry Street, Wheaton, was arrested at 10:50 a.m. on the 1400 block of Irving Park Road, Streamwood, on a Wheaton warrant for aggravated battery/resisting a peace officer. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail pending a court appearance.


Vehicle Burglary


A woman reported at 8:03 p.m. that between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m., someone stole $2,000 in computer equipment from her unlocked vehicle. The woman told police the theft occurred while she was shopping at Ulta 3, 112 Danaf Square West, and at Victoria Secret, 151 Town Square. The stolen items included a $1,500 Hewlett-Packard laptop and a $500 Apple iPad. Police said both items were left on the back seat in plain view, and the parked vehicle was left unlocked.


Assault, Resisting


Stephen L. Anderson, 50, of the 500 block of Cochise Place, Carol Stream, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. on charges of assault, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, and violation of an order of protection. He was transported to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office pending a court appearance.


TUESDAY, DEC. 3, 2013


DUI


Dative Akimpuhwe, 24, of the 1700 block of E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, was arrested at 10:17 p.m. at Main Street and Roosevelt Road on charges of DUI, and improper lane use. He posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.


DUI


Stephen J. Strenk, 52, of the 500 block of Appaloosa Court, Carol Stream, was arrested at 5:03 p.m. at Churchill Lane and County Farm Road on charge of DUI, and improper lane use.  He posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.



Attempted Retail Theft


Jewel Foods, 2031 N. Main St., reported at 11:25 .m. that a woman tried to walk out of the store with a  shopping basket filled with $146 in merchandize, which she abandoned when she realized a store employee was watching her. The woman got into a maroon sport utility vehicle that had been parked with the engine running in the store’s fire lane.


Criminal Defacement


Police were called at 8:29 a.m. to the 100 block of E. Wesley Street on a report that someone had used black spray paint to deface a rear outside wall. The incident occurred between Nov. 27 and Dec. 3.


MONDAY, DEC. 2, 2013


Home Burglary


Police were called at 8:39 p.m. to the 100 block of West Illinois Street on a report of a resident arriving home about 8 p.m. to find someone had broken into his home and taken a concrete socket set, a Bosch handheld grinder, and a winch cable pill-along. The items had a combined value of $185..


School Sign Damaged


Community Unit School District 200 reported at 8:59 a.m. that someone in the past 15 minutes had cracked the Plexiglass cover of a message board at 130 W. Park Ave.

Criminal Property Damage


Someone using possibly a BB gun damaged a 2013 Nissan Sentra while it was parked on the 900 block of South Lorraine Road. The damage to the vehicle’s rear driver-side quarter-panel occurred between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1, the report states.


SATURDAY, NOV. 30, 2013


DUI


Jeffrey R. Alexander, 25, of the 500 block of Blanchard Avenue, Wheaton, was arrested at 2:11 a.m. at Naperville and West Loop roads on charges of DUI, speeding, and improper lane use. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.


FRIDAY, NOV. 29, 2013


Two Charged with Retail Theft


Brooke A. Krock, 33, and Andrezej Ignacluk, 27, both of the 1100 block of Pratt, Palatine, were arrested at 11:30 p.m. by Palatine police and turned over to Wheaton police on one charge each of retail theft. Krock also was arrested on a Lake County warrant for forgery. Ignacluk posted bond and was released. Krock was transferred to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office pending Lake County action on the forgery warrant.
