Wheaton Man Trespasses Vehicle, Arrested Soon After Near City Hall

Wheaton Police arrested Santiago Garcia-Sandoval for trespassing a red Mustang on Main St.

Wheaton Police arrested Santiago Garcia-Sandoval of the 100 block of Nepil Avenue in Wheaton for trespassing a red 1997 Ford Mustang Friday, Oct. 1. According to the police report, Garcia-Sandoval, 25, trespassed the Mustang at 108 N. Main St. at 11:04 p.m. and was arrested at City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St. approximately 20 minutes later. 

Wheaton Police Chief Mark Field said that the incident initially transpired at 118 N. Main St. When the suspect realized that he had been spotted by the vehicle owner, he fled on foot down an alley toward Hale Street, Field said.  

Police Officer Gruden, who was on a traffic stop at 303 W. Wesley St., overheard the radio dispatch describing the suspect and determined that he had the same individual stopped on his traffic stop, Field said.
