Wheaton Man Charged in Stabbing

A Wheaton man is charged after reportedly stabbing a man in West Chicago over $40.

A Wheaton man is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in a public space after allegedly stabbing a man in a dispute over $40 in West Chicago, according to a Daily Herald report.

Martin Favela, 31, of the north 0-100 block of Pleasant Hill Road in Wheaton was arrested and booked at DuPage County Jail Jan. 2. He is charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of possession of a controlled substance, court records show.

The Herald reports the victim suffered injuries to his face and chest in the Saturday attack that happened after he tried to sell marijuana to someone in a van and was knifed by another passenger.
