Wheaton Home 'Uninhabitable' Due to Small Attic Fire

No one was injured in a small attic fire Sunday morning at 2076 Spring Green Drive in Wheaton. Building officials say the home is uninhabitable due to damages.

No one was injured in a small attic fire in a home at 2076 Spring Green Drive Sunday morning. The Wheaton Fire Department responded to the call reporting the fire at about 9 a.m., and was able to control the fire within minutes, according to a press release Monday.

Officials said an electrical malfunction in an attic fan caused the fire. The City of Wheaton Building Department determined the building was uninhabitable due to the damages, officials said.
