UPDATE: Pedestrian Hit in Wheaton Remains in Critical Condition

Barbara Meagher, a woman who was hit by a car on Geneva Road in early December remains in critical condition at Loyola University Medical Center.

Barbara Meagher of Carol Stream remains in critical condition at Loyola University Medical Center with injuries sustained after she was hit by a car on Geneva Road Dec. 4, police said earlier this week.

Meagher, 52, was off a ventilator about a week after the accident. She remains at the hospital, and is somewhat communicative, with no changes to her condition. 

According to a release from the Wheaton Police Department, Barbara Jean Meagher, 52, was crossing Geneva Road from the south entrance of Home Depot around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, when she was hit by an eastbound car driving in the curb lane.
