2 Grand In Cash Taken From Wallet, Stabbed Tires: Police Blotter

Wheaton police reports, Feb. 26-March 1

FRIDAY, MARCH 1

Stolen Cell Phone

Someone stole a cell phone worth $700 from a man at the Wheaton College SRC building at about 3:45 p.m. Feb. 20. The man told police March 1 that he placed his cell phone down while working out and when he looked back, he noticed the phone was missing.

Warrant

Nicholas Frano, 23, of the 1700 block of Childs Street, Wheaton, was arrested at 2:12 p.m. on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was related to an incident of criminal damage to property at his home at 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 25. Frano was released to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

THURSDAY, FEB. 28

$2,400 Gone

A woman at 7:10 p.m. reported $2,400 missing from her black leather wallet that she lost the day before. Around 8 p.m. Feb. 27, she left a store in the 2000 block of South Naperville Road after buying some items. She had the wallet in her hand while leaving the store and returning to her car.

The next day she discovered her wallet missing and retraced her steps from the previous evening, eventually returning to the store at about 6:30 p.m. to see if someone turned in the wallet. The woman thought she might have dropped the wallet in the parking lot while transferring her items into her car. The store manager told her that someone did indeed find the wallet in the parking lot, and had returned it last night. When the woman inspected her wallet, she noticed the money was missing.

No Driver's License

Police charged Antonio Reyes, 40, of the 2300 block of North Moody Avenue, Chicago, with driving without a license. He drove a brown 1998 Chevy Blazer when police stopped him at about 7:09 p.m. on the 1100 block of East Roosevelt Road. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that evening.

Suspended Driver's License

Police charged Ashley B. Noble, 27, of the 200 block of Post Oak Circle, West Chicago, with driving on a suspended license. She drove a blue 2004 Toyota Corolla near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Legends Drive at about 5:49 p.m. when police stopped her. She was released at the Wheaton Police Department later that day.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 27

Suspended Driver's License

Police charged Kent T. Beery, 48, of the 900 block of West Thomas Road, Wheaton, with driving on a suspended license. He drove a red 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 at about 11:58 p.m. near the intersection of Gary Avenue and Thomas Road when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released early the next day.

Criminal Damage

A man reported at 4:45 p.m. that someone stabbed the driver's side tires of his vehicle parked in the center of a parking lot on the 900 block of East College Avenue. The man parked his vehicle at 10 p.m. Feb. 24 in the lot facing east and had not used it since then. The tires were stabbed with an unknown tool, possibly a screwdriver or knife, according to a police report.

TUESDAY, FEB. 26

No Driver's License

  • Police charged Erika Barrera, 37, of the 600 block of Gundersen Drive, Carol Stream, with driving without a license. She drove a gray 2006 Chevy Malibu when police stopped her at about 11:59 p.m. on the 400 block of South Schmale Road. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.
  • Police charged Leocadio Santiago, 32, of the 6400 block of South Kostner Avenue, Chicago, with driving without a license. He drove a dark green 1999 Ford E250 on the 1700 block of South Blanchard Street at about 2 p.m. when police stopped him. He was released at the scene.
