St. Charles Man Dies After Suffering Heart Attack on I-90, Crashing Vehicle

The crash occurred on Interstate 90 in Gilberts.

A 66-year-old St. Charles man died in a weekend crash after suffering an apparent heart attack on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway near Gilberts, according to the Daily Herald. 

Police said the accident occurred when the man's vehicle began to weave out of control on Interstate 90 and then crashed into the back of a pickup truck that was parked in a construction zone near Tyrell Road about 9:37 a.m. Saturday, according to the Daily Herald. 

A witness to the crash pulled over and began to administer CPR on the driver, Guy Cooper, who was then taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin where he was pronounced dead at 10:25 a.m., according to the Elgin Courier News.

No one else was injured in the crash, according to the Elgin Courier News.
