Sentencing in Wheaton Teen Child Luring Case

Eric M. Pence II, now 20 and a Naperville resident, will serve 180 days plus probation; his father is serving 21 years for sexual abuse of a pre-teen girl.

The man arrested as a Wheaton teenager in Sept. 2012 and charged with child pornography possession and luring a minor after an investigation that started with a 12-year-old's parents' complaint has been sentenced to 180 days in jail, 30 months probation and over $1,000 in fines, the Naperville Sun reports

According to the paper, Eric M. Pence II, 20, is now a Naperville resident and pled guilty to charges of grooming and traveling to meet a minor; prosecutors charged that he “knowingly used (the Internet) to seduce, solicit, lure or entice” an underage girl in order to “engage in unlawful sexual conduct.”

Pence II was formerly a resident of the 0-100 block of Circle Avenue in Wheaton and now lives on the 1700 block of Brookdale Road in Naperville.

The judge who sentenced Pence II, DuPage County Circuit Court Judge George J. Bakalis, was the same judge who seven years ago sentenced Pence II’s father, Eric M. Pence, to 21 years in prison for criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal abuse of an underage girl, the Sun said.
