Police Seek Witnesses in Fatal Glen Ellyn Motorcycle Accident

No tickets were issued in the fatal accident, which remains under investigation.

A Lombard motorcyclist died over the weekend as a result of injuries he received in a collision with a vehicle on May 31, Glen Ellyn Police reported June 4.

Bruce Watson, 49, of Lombard, was driving his motorcycle southbound on Main Street just north of St. Charles Road at about 5:30 p.m. Friday when he collided with a vehicle heading northbound on Main Street. Watson was hit as the vehicle, a 2004 Acura TSX, turned into a parking lot on the West Side of Main Street, according to Glen Ellyn Deputy Police Chief Bill Holmer.

The Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company and Glen Ellyn Paramedics responded to the accident. Watson was taken to Glen Oaks Hospital and later transported to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Holmer said. Watson later died of his injuries.

The driver of the Acura is not being identified at this time as no citations have been issued and the report and investigation are pending, Holmer said.

No other injuries were reported in the accident.
