Police: Wheaton Man Arrested for Drinking, Chicago Man Charged for Retail Theft

Drinking in Public

Downers Grove police arrested James Triphan, 53, of 705 W. Liberty Street in Wheaton, was charged with drinking in public on May 11 after being spotted by police sitting on a bench and drinking at the Main Street Depot.

Theft

Police issued a local ordinance citation to a 55-year-old Chicago man for stealing “consumable” items from 7 Eleven, 326 Liberty Drive, around 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9. He was released on the scene.
