Someone used fake checks to buy items at Target, 601 County Farm Road, between 7:30 p.m. Friday, Apr. 27 and 3:42 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 28.

Illegal credit card use
Someone tried to buy an X-Box 360 with a fake debit card at GameStop, 105 Geneva Road, around 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 7.

A woman reported someone used her credit card 13 times between Apr. 2 and Apr. 23, spending $300.
Theft
Someone stole $60 in cash from a Jewel employee’s purse at Jewel Osco, 30 Danada Square West, between 7 and 9 p.m. Monday, May 7. According to the police report, the woman put her purse in a work locker in the break room before starting work around 7 p.m. When she returned the contents of the purse had been scattered and the money was gone.
Someone stole an MP3 player, eyewear and four tires from a building in the 400 block of Sunnyside Avenue between 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5 and 7 a.m. Monday, May 7. According to the police report the MP3 player is worth $450, the eyewear is worth $100 and the tires are worth $1,000.
Someone stole used tires from a storage unit at a business in the 600 block of Carlton Street between 6 p.m. Saturday, May 5 and 10 a.m. Sunday, May 6.
A taxi driver reported a customer who left without paying his $60 fare around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, May 6 in the 300 block of Western Avenue.
Someone stole $420 in video game consoles from Target, 601 County Farm Road between 6:55 and 7:13 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
Someone stole about $325 in jewelry from a home in the 1300 block of College Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
Someone stole $60 in lawn care equipment from a sidewalk in the 400 block of Erie Street around 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
Someone stole more than $2,400 in jewelry and $70 in clothing from an apartment at Wynscape Nursing Home, 2180 Manchester Road, between December 19, 2011 and March 26.
Someone stole a bike, worth $170, from a Wheaton College residence in the 600 block of Washington Street between 7 a.m. December 1, 2011 and 7 a.m. February 28.
