Police: Man Broke into Warrenville Home, Sexually Assaulted Sleeping Woman
Warrenville police think that the man entered a first-floor apartment through an unlocked patio door. Residents are advised to take caution.
Warrenville police are investigating an incident in which they say an offender entered a first-floor residence on the 500 block of Country Ridge Drive and sexually assaulted a sleeping woman at about 3 a.m. on July 30.
A neighbor heard screams and called 911, according to NBC Chicago.
The woman, the home's sole occupant at the time, was treated at a hospital for injuries related to the assault, the Daily Herald said.

The offender entered the residence through an unlocked patio door, according to Warrenville police in a press release. It was the first incident of home invasion and sexual assault in the mostly-quiet DuPage suburb in the last 10 years.
"We're hoping to develop some leads by reaching out to the community," Warrenville Police Deputy Chief David Schar told the Herald.

"All residents are encouraged to be diligent in securing their homes and vehicles," the press release said. "Residents are also reminded to be watchful of their surroundings, including in and around their neighborhood."
