Police Investigate Five Weekend Car Break-Ins

Wheaton police are investigating five car break-ins between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Four of the five occurred in church parking lots.

The Wheaton Police Department is investigating five car break-ins that occurred between Saturday evening, Feb. 19 and Sunday morning, Feb. 20.

Four of the five break-ins were to cars in church parking lots, according to a press release from Wheaton police.

Between 4 and 5 p.m. Saturday, someone broke the passenger side windows of two cars parked at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, 101 West Loop Road and stole a purse from each.

Between 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday, someone broke the passenger side glass window of two vehicles parked at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 Roosevelt Road, and removed a purse from each vehicle. The vehicles were parked and locked in the parking lot of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church located at 520 E. Roosevelt Road.

The fifth burglary was to an unlocked car in the 100 block of Danada Drive at an unknown time over the weekend, police said. A laptop computer was stolen from inside of the passenger compartment.
