Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Wheaton Restaurant

Man robs Subway around 7 p.m. Tuesday, police say.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at Subway, 2211 Gary Avenue around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, according to a release from the Wheaton Police Department. No one was hurt.

A white man, 20 to 30, entered Subway and showed store clerks his semi-automatic pistol while ordering them to surrender money from the register. The clerks gave him the cash, according to the release, and he left. 

The man was described as white, 20 to 30, approximately six feet tall, 200 pounds and wearing a grey sweatshirt, black jacket, jeans and black gloves, according to the release.

A St. Charles Police Department canine assisted Wheaton Police Officers in the search for the suspect. No suspect was found. An undetermined amount of currency was taken, according to the release.
