Police: Graffiti Reported at Hubble, Jacket and Phone Stolen at Church and More

Someone pierced a tire of a Toyota Corolla parked in the 1600 block of Ashburn Court in Wheaton between midnight and 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. Somone had also thrown eggs at four other cars in the area, including the Toyota, police said. The cost of the damaged tire is about $100.

Someone stole a jacket and the cell phone in one of the pockets from a fellow member of a church congregation in the 500 block of Roosevelt Road around 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. The cost of the phone is $150, police said.

Someone removed a window from a building in the 1400 block of Hill Avenue in Wheaton between 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 and 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14.  to enter the building, but stole nothing, police said.

Someone stole cold medicine from a store in the 300 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton around noon Wednesday, Feb. 9. Police said a female allegedly took a bottle of OTC cold medicine, worth $9, off a store shelf, put it in her purse and leave the store. The store employee followed her and retrieved the bottle, police said.

Someone stole a license plate off of a blue 2007 Saab in the 1200 block of Exeter Court around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9.

Someone spray painted the old Hubble school building around 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9. According to the police report an officer found the graffiti, which included blue, white, green, brown and black scribbles, blue cubes, a blue heart, the letter H, a pyramid and the words “Don’t erase ART.” Park district employees told police the property belongs to District 200, police said.

Someone stole a license plate off of a Ford Explorer in the 1200 block of Manchester Road around 7 a.m. Feb. 3.

Someone stole an MP3 player from an Edison Middle School student’s backpack between 3 and 6 p.m. Jan. 19.
