Police Blotter: Vandals Smash it Up; Teens Caught With Pot

The following arrest reports were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Criminal Damage to Property
A resident in the 800 block of Plamondon Road reported a smashed mailbox on Monday, Aug. 22. The resident told police the damage occurred between 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 and 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22

Someone smashed the rear window of a GMC Envoy while it was parked at the intersection of Chase and Dawes streets between 7:45 and 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

Someone broke the back window of a red 2011 Kia while it was parked in the 0-100 block of Christina Circle between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Saturay, Aug. 20. Police said the window had a baseball-sized hole, consistent with an impact mark from a baseball bat. 

A resident in the 500 block of Longfellow Drive reported that someone had smashed the rear window of their 2009 Mercury Mariner between 9 and 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. 

Drugs
Police issued local ordinance citations for marijuana, illegal consumption of alcohol and possession of drug equipment to two Downers Grove teenagers Saturday, Aug. 20. They were given the citations near Childs Street and Dorchester around 3 a.m. and released at the scene, police said.
