Men Steal Over-the-Counter Meds

A Walgreens employee reported two men walked into the store at 2020 Naperville Rd. around 7:15 p.m. and stole various over-the-counter medications. They left without paying “in a matter of minutes,” police said.

Game Controller Stolen

Someone stole a $40 game controller from Gamestop, 105 W. Geneva Rd., around 11 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 1

Glass Bottles Broken Near School

Someone broke several 12-ounce glass bottles, possibly beer bottles, on the blacktop area outside a school at 630 E. Dawes Ave. between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 and 7 a.m. Wednesday. The bottles may have been lit on fire. Police said among the shards of glass was a rolled-up piece of paper with soot on one end.

Cell Phones Stolen From Stores

  • Someone stole two cell phones, worth a total of $1,100, from a display at Sprint, 316 Geneva Rd., around 2:50 p.m.
  • Someone stole two cell phones, worth a total of about $1,200, from Verizon, 109 W. Geneva Rd., between 2 and 4 p.m.

Wallet Stolen at Grocery Store

Someone stole a wallet from a woman’s purse at Whole Foods, 151 Rice Lake Square, around 7 p.m.

TUESDAY, JULY 31

Laptop Stolen in Apartment

Someone broke into an apartment in the 1100 block of College Avenue and stole a $1,300 laptop from a resident’s living room between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Bike Stolen from Yard

A bicycle worth $100 was taken from a yard in the 400 block of Erie Street between 6 p.m. Saturday, July 28 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 31.
