Police Blotter: Thefts, Property Damage and Arrests

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Theft

An employee of Addante's Pizza, 2221 Gary Avenue, reported that someone had stolen the restaurant's pressure washer between Saturday, Apr. 16 and Wednesday, May 11. According to the police report, the washer, worth $500 was in a room that was always locked, but there were no signs of forced entry to the room, according to the police report. 

A resident reported stolen mail after someone broke into their car Tuesday, May 10. The car owner parked their 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass outside of the Wheaton Eye Clinic, 2015 Main Street around 11 a.m. Tuesday and returned around 1 p.m. Three of the mail items contained personal checks, police said.

Some test drove a bike worth $1,200 from Spokes, 69 Danada Square East, Monday, May 9 and never returned it.

A resident in the 1400 block of Gables reported a broken window Friday, May 6. Police said it appeared that a "projectile" such as a BB or pellet shot from an air gun caused the hole in the window. The cost of damage is approximately $1,000, police said.

Arrests

Police arrested a Wheaton man for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear for a warrant for domestic battery Friday, May 13. Michael Straus, 30, of the 0 to 100 block of Sterling Circle, was arrested at his home at 10:17 p.m. Friday. He was booked around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wheaton Police Department and taken to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office that morning, according to the police report.

Police arrested Esteban Ines-Manuel of the 800 block of Bridle Lane in Wheaton for no valid driver’s license and improper passing Thursday, May 12. Police stopped Ines-Manuel, 26, in a silver 2000 Chevy Blazer near the intersection of Main Street and Roosevelt Road at 5:45 p.m. Thursday. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that evening.

Police arrested a Wheaton man on a McHenry County warrant for failure to appear for domestic battery Wednesday, May 11. Joshua Heerdegen, 21, of the 400 block of Hale Street, was arrested at his home at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday and taken to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office that night.

Police arrested Maria Delgado of Lisle for driving with no valid license, no insurance and failing to slow her 1999 Ford Windstar to avoid an accident at the intersection of Main and Roosevelt roads Tuesday, May 10. Delgado, 30, was arrested at 11:30 a.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.
