Police Blotter: Theft, DUI and Drug Arrests

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Theft

Police arrested a Bloomingdale man for retail theft at 7-Eleven, 326 Liberty Drive in Wheaton Thursday, May 26. Nicholas Limbers, 25, was arrested at Caribou Coffee, 390 Front Street at 3:15 p.m., less than ten minutes after the theft occurred at 7-Eleven, according to the police report. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department at 11:14 p.m. Thursday and released later that night.

DUI

Police arrested Christopher Horn of Wheaton for driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the life of a child and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accidence Saturday, May 21. Horn, 54, of the 100 block of Summit Street, drove a green 2000 GMC Denali near the intersection of Childs and West streets around 1 p.m. Saturday. He was arrested on the scene, booked at the Wheaton Police Department and taken to Central DuPage Hospital that afternoon. 

Police arrested a Batavia man Friday, May 20, for driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, disobeying a traffic signal, failure to notify the state with address change and failure to appear for a DUI. Police stopped Jeffrey Smith, 28, in a 2008 Ford Ranger near the intersection of Roosevelt and Warrenville roads at 12:08 a.m. Friday. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Drugs

Police arrested a 20-year-old Aurora man for marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding Thursday, May 12. Police stopped him for speeding in a black 1998 Jeep Cherokee near the intersection of Butterfield and Naperville roads at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. He was released on the scene.

Police arrested Richard Miller of North Aurora on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance Monday, May 9. Miller, 21, was arrested at 8 a.m. Monday, booked at the Wheaton Police Department and taken to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office later that morning.
