Police Blotter: Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Forgery Attempt and More

Residents report stolen cash, hub caps. Police make arrests for credit card fraud, no valid license, attempted forgery and drug paraphernalia.

 Thefts

Someone stole four hub caps from a 2009 blue Escalade while it was parked in Town Square on Saturday, May 14. According to the police report, the car owner went into Starbucks for about 30 minutes and came out to see the caps had been taken.

A resident in the 0-100 block of Kensington Circle reported a car break-in to her 2003 Ford ZX2 after leaving her keys in the door to her apartment Saturday, May 14. According to the police report, the woman’s husband found her keys in the door lock and saw that $48 in cash was missing from her wallet, which was on the keychain. They checked the car and found that $80 in cash had been taken from the glove box.

Arrests

Police arrested a Warrenville man on warrants for credit card fraud at an Italian restaurant in Warrenville Saturday, Jun. 4. Kevin Coleman, 20, committed the offense around 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 9 at Roma D’Italia, 3S015 Rt. 59, Warrenville. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department around 1 a.m. on Jun. 4 and taken to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office later that morning.

Police arrested a Winfield man for driving with no valid license, operating an uninsured vehicle and an inadequate exhaust system Wednesday, Jun. 1. Police stopped Constancio Torres-Nava, 27, in a green 1996 Ford Contour near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Pierce Street around 11:35 p.m. Wednesday. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released around 1 a.m. Thursday.

Police arrested a DeKalb man for attempted forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of Wesley Street Tuesday, May 24. Denni Miller, 21, was arrested around 5 p.m. Tuesday, booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.
