Police Blotter: Theft at Wheaton Restaurant, $500 Stolen from Purse

MONDAY, JUNE 11

Cash Stolen at Smashburger in Wheaton

Someone stole cash from Smashburger, 1 Rice Lake Square, between 11 p.m. Sunday, June 10 and 7 a.m. Monday, June 11. Smashburger employees recently reported a burglary, after someone shattered one of the restaurant's doors between 11 p.m. Thursday, May 24 and 7 a.m. Friday, May 25 to break in and tried to access the safe without success.

Garbage Bag of Clothes Stolen from Driveway

Someone stole $250 in clothes that a woman left in a garbage bag at the edge of her driveway in the 1200 block of Prairie Avenue between 9 p.m. Monday, June 11 and 6:20 a.m. Tuesday.

SUNDAY, JUNE 10

Fencing Stolen from Wheaton Yard

Someone stole a section of landscaping fencing left in a front yard in the 200 block of Park Avenue between 11:37 and 11:47 a.m. According to the police report the fencing was rolled up on the ground under the hose. The fence is worth $15.

Thief Breaks Window to Steal Tote Bag

Someone used a rock to break a window of a Honda in the 200 block of Wesley Street and steal a $50 tote bag from the back seat between 9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9 and 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

$500 Stolen From Unlocked Car

Someone stole $500 cash from a woman's purse in an unlocked 2012 Chevy Sonic parked in the 200 block of Naperville Road between 10 and 11 a.m. Monday, June 4.
