Police Blotter: Stolen Truck, Bikes, Christmas Decor and More
The following items were taken from the Wheaton Police Department.
Someone stole two boys bikes from a yard in the 200 block of Vernon Avenue between 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 and 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5. The bikes are each worth $80, police said. The same resident also reported someone stole a men’s bike left unsecured outside of Target, 600 County Farm Road.
Someone stole $411 cash and “miscellaneous personal items” from a 1996 Jeep Cherokee that was parked in the 600 block of County Farm Road between 4 and 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Someone damaged the Christmas ornaments and a wreath at Washington Elementary School between 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9 and 7:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12. The value of the damaged items is about $50, police said.

Someone shattered the front door window and stole the registration of a white 2009 Hyundai Elantra parked at the Apartments of Wheaton Center between 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 and 8 a.m. Monday.
Someone stole the hub caps from a cream 1999 Lincoln Town Car parked at the intersection of Front and Hale streets between 7 and 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

Someone took a black 2003 Ford F-450 from the parking lot at the DuPage County courthouse, 505 County Farm Road, between 8:20 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8. According to the police report the car owner parked the Ford in the overflow lot at the courthouse and when he returned it was gone.
Someone stole about $125 cash from a backpack in the women’s locker room at Wheaton College between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on October 28. The student reported the theft Friday, Dec. 9.
A resident reported criminal damage to property after someone scratched the hood and doors of their red 1999 Mercury Mystique between 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4 p.m. Sunday. The car was parked in the 1000 block of Briarbrook Drive, police said.
