Police Blotter: Stolen Ballet Costume, Car Break-Ins and Mailbox Damage

The following items were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Theft

A Wheaton woman in the 700 block of Arbor reported a stolen ballet costume on Wednesday, Apr. 13. She reported she had ordered a custom light blue dress, worth $500, which was to be delivered via UPS on Apr. 13. According to the police report, UPS delivered the package at around 6 p.m. on Apr. 13, but “must have left the package at the front door without ringing the door bell,” police said, as the resident was at home waiting for the package at the time.

A Wheaton resident in the 300 block of Cole Street reported a car break-in on Sunday, Apr. 17. According to the police report, someone took a GPS unit and GPS mount from the resident’s unlocked white Crown Victoria when it was parked in the driveway between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Damage to property

A Wheaton resident in the 1900 block of Richton reported a damaged mailbox on Sunday, Apr. 17. According to the police report, the mailbox had been pushed down, as had seven other mailboxes in the same block of Richton, as well as two in the 1000 block of Brighton.

A Wheaton resident reported damage to their red Crown Victoria on Apr. 10. According to the police report, someone threw a rock through the back window of the car while it was parked outside the 1200 block of Briarbrook addresss.
