Police Blotter: More Stealing and Damaging Around Town

The following arrest reports were taken from the Wheaton police blotter.

Theft

Someone took a Huffy Cruiser bike locked to a fence outside the train station in the 400 block of Front Street. The bike was taken some time between Aug. 25 and Aug. 30, according to police.

A resident contacted police on Aug. 30 to report that he had left his cell phone at Jewel, 30 Danada Square, while shopping at the store on Aug. 21, police reported.

A backpack containing two school text books was reported stolen from an unsecured locker at Wheaton Warrenville South High School on Aug. 26, according to police.

A man told police his Chicago Bears wallet was taken from a counter at the train station as he poured cream and sugar into a cup of coffee he purchased around 9 a.m. on Aug. 26, police said.

Someone took a cell phone left unattended in a storage area of the band room at Wheaton Warrenville South High School, police said.

A Trek bike valued at $500 was reported stolen around 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 24 from the 600 Block of Harrison Street, police reported.

A resident in the 1700 block of Lucky Debonair Court reported on Aug. 24 that someone took a blue three-foot by five-foot U.S. Air Force flag, as well as the flag police, at some point between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19, police said.

Criminal Damage

Someone broke the driver's side mirror on a 2007 Honda Civic at some time on either Aug. 29 or Aug. 30 in a parking lot in the 2000 block of West Roosevelt Road, police reported.

A resident in the 800 block of Delles told police someone slashed a tire on his 2001 Ford F-150 pick up truck while he was out of town on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25, police said.

Someone broke out the back window of a 2009 Honda CRV parked in the 0-99 block of Christina Circle between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 26, police said. A large rock was found to have caused $500 in damage.

A resident in the 1100 block of Briarbrook Drive reported to police on Aug. 26 that someone had jumped on the hood of a 2008 Mercedes in an apartment complex parking lot. The damage occurred on Aug. 7, according to the police report.

Some time between Aug. 7 and Aug. 10, a 2006 Dodge Charger was keyed while pakred in the 0-99 block of Wheaton Center. The owner reported the damage on Aug. 25, describing it as a long scratch from the driver's door to the rear wheel, police said.

Seven solar lights were taken from a home in the 400 block of Bluegrass and smashed in the street around midnight on Aug. 24. Each light was valued at $10, according to police.
