Police Blotter: Man Charged with Attempted Burglary at Monroe Middle School

SUNDAY, JULY 29

Burglary Attempt at Middle School

Police charged a West Chicago man with two felony charges for attempted burglary at Monroe Middle School, 1855 Manchester Rd., and possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property. Edward Gaggioli, 20, was arrested in the 1800 block of Manchester Road around 2 a.m., booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

FTA Warrant

Police charged Mark Parenty, 55, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton with a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) warrant in the 100 block of Hale Street around 2:30 p.m. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

DUI

Police charged Antonio Fernandez of Aurora with driving under the influence of alcohol. Fernandez, 25, drove a green 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Washington Street around 2 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Suspended License

Police charged Jose Gutierrez of Chicago with driving on a suspended license. Gutierrez, 28, drove a red 1991 Honda Civic near the intersection of President Street and Roosevelt Road around midnight when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

FRIDAY, JULY 27

DUI

Police charged a Wheaton woman with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Nancy Allen, 57, of the 1800 block of Kandahar Court in Wheaton, drove a white 2004 Lexus near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Cromwell Drive around 4:20 p.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Retail Theft

Police charged Ragini Patel, 44, of West Chicago with retail theft at Kohl's, 401 County Farm Rd., around 1:45 p.m. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.

THURSDAY, JULY 26

DUI

Police charged Frank Pecora, 53, of Glen Ellyn with driving under the influence of alcohol. Pecora drove a gray 2011 Mercedes near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Raider Lane around 11 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Suspended License

Police charged Xavier Smith, 35, of Chicago with driving on a suspended license. Smith drove a red 2002 Chevy Impala near the intersection of Elm and Hale streets around 5 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.

Trespassing, Attempted Theft

Police charged Duane Griffin, 43, of Chicago with trespassing and attempting to steal a bike in the 100 block of Pierce Avenue around 10 a.m. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.
